Tech communities are vital engines for digital transformation, innovation, and job creation in Rwanda and beyond. They are groups of tech passionate individuals who come together to share knowledge, build projects, and collaborate on solving local and global problems using technology.

Learn moreThis project was implemented by Rwanda ICT Chamber in partnership with the Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT), and supported by UNCDF in 2021 as part of its COVID-19 response and recovery plan. The objectives of the pilot were to onboard MSMEs to e-commerce platforms to improve sales, drive more customers to buy online, while promoting awareness of e-commerce and building digital literacy within the wider community.
View report (PDF)The project aims to establish innovation hubs in 4 secondary cities of Rwanda (Rusizi, Rubavu, Nyagatare, and Muhanga) providing young entrepreneurs with the necessary resources to leverage disruptive technologies. By fostering a culture of innovation, supporting entrepreneurship, promoting inclusivity, and driving economic growth, the program intends to address the concentration of entrepreneurship support in Kigali.

Initiated in 2021, AIPI aims at facilitating the creation of partnerships and access to new markets through B2B, study tours, capacity-building programs, workshops, exchange programs, and other events that support fruitful collaborations of and for both ecosystems.
